    Helmet

A helmet is very necessary while riding or jumping on your dirt bike because a helmet saves for from serious injuries if you have faced any incident. Always use a helmet that is specially designed for dirt bikes and make sure your helmet should be secure, cracks-free, dot approved, and less than 3 years old. Moreover, use a lighter-weight helmet instead of a heavier-weight helmet because a lighter-weight helmet has better ventilation allowing the rider to feel cool off efficiently.

  1. Safety Gears

Always wear appropriate safety gear like long boots, pants, jerseys, and goggles. Long over-the-ankle boots are specially designed for dirt bikes with pads and ankle support, also wear the pant and jersey which is designed for dirt bike riding and jumping because they are comfortable, lightweight, and breathable. As dirt bikes are subjected to dust, dirt, debris, wind and other elements that’s why wearing proper goggles is best for eyes protection and safety.

  1. Dirt Bike Manual Book

Read the user manual book of your dirt bike before riding and jumping because the dirt bike manual book keeps the all information and instructions about riding and jumping, after reading make sure to act on the given instructions.

If you don’t find the user manual with your dirt bike then visit the website of your manufacturer and read it before jumping.

  1. Dirt Bike Control

This is the most important precaution for safety because, without full control of your dirt bike, it is not possible to wheelie your dirt bike. Firstly you need to learn proper acceleration, deceleration, gearing, brakes, and clutching for control, and then try to jump on your dirt bike with full protection.

  1. Body Position

Proper body position is also very important for safety before your dirt bike jump. Maintain a stable body position while jumping and landing on your dirt bike. Make a tight grip on the handle. Your head should be over the handle and your upper body position should be 45 degrees with the ground. Feets should be in middle with the pedals. Your knees also should be bent and your hips position should be above the pedals.

Before jumping, to reduce injury risks, you need to be the master of correct body position. Also keep yourself stable, cool, relaxed, and in control.

  1. Dirt Bike Size

One of the most important safety tips is that pick the right size dirt bike for you before jumping. Here right size means physical size as well as engine size. With the right size (physical and engine power) dirt bike, you will get more control over its movements. You will not get full control of too small or too large size dirt bikes as compared to your physical fitness.

For example, if you are a beginner or so young. Then the most powerful engine is not good for you to jump because you don’t control it properly.

  1. Safety Course

If you have never jumped a dirt bike before, we will recommend you take an official safety course. An official safety course is the best way to learn about small jumps, large jumps, maintenance, stopping, and controlling. Moreover, they will also teach you how to deal with an incident you or any member of your team face while jumping. We will recommend a safety course for both beginners and professionals.

  1. Inspect before Jump

Inspecting your dirt bike before jumping is very important for safety. When you want to go for dirt bike jumping make sure to inspect your dirt bike before jumping.  Also, check whether the brakes, clutch, gears, and acceleration are working properly or not. Most importantly look at your tire and check whether the tire condition is suitable for jumping or not. If you have any doubt about your dirt bike tire. Then go to any mechanic for further inspection or replace your dirt bike tire.

  1. Jump with Group

Practicing in a park or your backyard with other beginners is fine. If you are going for jumping alone then it is very dangerous for you and you are at high risk. So jumping with a group is your best to avoid incidents and injuries. With a group, you have great protection with you which is better for you and you’re your group members.

  1. Jump Practice

Before taking your dirt bike for jumping, beginners are always advised to master the basic skills. Find some dirt unpaved road for practicing. Moreover, can work up to mountain terrain or tracks with jumps and other obstacles.

Practice makes a man perfect so do a lot of practice before your dirt bike jumps to avoid the incident and injuries.

Remember: Always keep an emergency medical box with you
